in Hammersmith has been graded outstanding in every category by Ofsted, the first Free School to secure the highest rating from Her Majesty鈥檚 Inspectors. The school was commended for its 鈥渉igh quality teaching that inspires and motivates all pupils to try their very best.鈥
Head teacher Damian McBeath said; 鈥淲e are delighted that the hard work and dedication of staff, parents and pupils have been recognised by Ofsted. The academy has only been open since September 2011 and from the outset, we have focused on delivering the highest-quality education for our pupils. They are happy, inspired to learn and making incredible progress.鈥
The Ofsted report also commented on the breadth of learning at ARK Conway: 鈥淧upils enjoy a wealth of high-quality learning experiences that include opportunities to excel in art and music鈥. Parents too hold the school in high regard with one commenting, 鈥淲e felt like we鈥檇 won the lottery when our child gained a place here.鈥
The report said:
- All pupils make rapid progress and achieve highly, particularly in learning to read and write and in their understanding and application of mathematics.
- High quality teaching inspires and motivates all pupils to try their very best.
- Teachers set high expectations for learning and behaviour and pupils respond extremely well so that their all round achievement is outstanding.
Education Secretary, Michael Gove, said: 鈥淎RK Conway has demonstrated how a brilliant school, with a culture of high expectations, great leadership and inspiring teachers can be truly excellent across the board within two years.”
