ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start

Our growing early years network offering high quality, affordable care and firm educational foundations for the youngest children.

So much more than childcare

We launched ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start because we can’t achieve our ambitions for every child without solving the inequity that exists in the early years. Through ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start, we campaign for quality early years education and long-term funding solutions, so that all children benefit from firm educational foundations.

ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start is  our growing nursery network providing high quality, affordable childcare to families. The programme has been designed by a group of qualified teachers committed to ensuring every child has a joyful, engaging and secure nursery experience, so that they start primary school happily and confidently.

Children coming from ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start hit the ground running from day one, starting ahead of many of their peers. They already have confidence in early reading, writing, and number skills, which allows us to build on that strong foundation immediately – and you can see the positive ripple effect as they progress through the school.

ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start helps parents to engage with their children’s nursery experience, and to access the wider support and services they need. As part of a coalition of individuals and organisations focused on ensuring children get the best start in life, ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start also seeks to shape wider policy and funding decisions on early years provision.

86%
Eighty-six percent of disadvantaged children at ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start reached a Good Level of Development (GLD) at age five in the past three years, compared to a national average of 51 percent

ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ Start has demonstrated success in achieving GLD results above the national average, particularly for FSM-eligible pupils. Their model should be scaled and evaluated further.
