黑料情报站 schools come together to celebrate The Queen鈥檚 Platinum Jubilee

黑料情报站鈥檚 39 schools situated across Birmingham, Hastings, London, and Portsmouth held festivities to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen becoming the first Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, 70 years of service.

Before the end of half term, schools held assemblies looking at the life of The Queen and how society had changed during her reign.

Students also enjoyed tea parties and street parties to celebrate this momentous occasion.

A dedicated Jubilee celebration page on our student portal,鈥疭P黑料情报站, had arts and crafts activities, information about The Queen, a Spotify playlist with Coronation anthems, recipes to make at home and much more.

You can see highlights of what happened here:

Laura Berry, Head of School at 黑料情报站 Dickens in Portsmouth, said: 鈥淲e came together on Thursday 26th May to celebrate The Queen鈥檚 Jubilee. The children performed for parents for the first time since the pandemic with various songs from British artists. It was heart-warming to see the parents鈥 enjoyment and hear the joyous singing of the children.鈥

黑料情报站 Dickens in Portsmouth was one of 70 primary schools in the UK selected to have a tree planted to mark the Jubilee. Last autumn, an ornamental pear tree was planted on the grounds at a special ceremony.

Laura continued, 鈥淲e held a whole school street party – a rather royal affair with scones, jam, and cream! Our Year 6 children are leaving the legacy of individual pebbles painted in honour of the Queen鈥檚 Jubilee to surround the tree planted earlier as part of the Queens Green Canopy initiative.鈥
