On Monday,, a new鈥痭ursey in East Croydon鈥痮pened its doors鈥痶o families鈥(1 March).
The鈥痭ursery welcomed 26 families and their young children into the purpose-built nursery,鈥痺hich is鈥痬ade of recycled shipping containers.
黑料情报站 Start is a pilot early years programme providing high quality, affordable childcare to families. The programme helps parents engage with their children鈥檚 nursery experience and access the broader support and services they need, 黑料情报站 Start鈥痑lso鈥痑ims to shape broader policy and funding decisions on early years provision.
Nursery Headteacher Lydia Cuddy-Gibbs said:
鈥淲e are thrilled that we have been able to welcome families this week. With COVID-19 restrictions, it has taken us longer to open, and we know the demand for places is high.鈥疶his has been a challenging year,鈥痓ut I am proud of how hard everyone has worked to鈥痚nsure we could open safely.
鈥淚 hope families joining us love the space and what we are trying to achieve at 黑料情报站 Start鈥疧val. We hope to give every child the best start in life by providing high quality, flexible and affordable鈥痗hildcare,鈥痑nd education.
鈥淐hildren coming to our nursey will鈥痯lay,鈥痩earn, grow鈥痑nd鈥痶hrive.鈥疧ur fantastic staff will support families鈥痶o鈥痟elp their children fulfil their potential.鈥
Thomas, whose鈥痶wo-year-old鈥痙aughter has joined the nursery said:
鈥淎rt Start鈥疧val is an excellent addition to the community. Our daughter enjoyed her initial visit so much and we cannot鈥痺ait to see her develop over time.鈥 We were very happy with the light, bright and airy space and knew as soon as we arrived that this was the correct place for our daughter.鈥疶he鈥痶eam are so鈥痚ngaging,鈥痑nd it鈥痠s clear Eva is in great hands.鈥濃
