On Wednesday 18 May, hosted a special event where Year 4 pupils led the world record attempt at rolling numbers together.
Livestreamed on YouTube to hundreds of primary schools across the country, the event celebrated and saw pupils smash the target of 1,500 – with 5,494 devices logged on to claim the Guinness World Record for the ‘most viewers of a rolling numbers live stream’ on YouTube.
Rolling numbers is a high-octane, call-and-response times tables chant that gets everyone excited and passionate about numbers.
The attempt was led by celebrities Katya Jones (Strictly Come Dancing), Bobby Seagull (presenter) and supported by a visit from the Secretary of State for Education, Nadhim Zahawi. You can watch his video message .
Across the UK, thousands of children joined in live to rock and roll their five times table – chosen specifically for National Numeracy Day’s fifth birthday.
Pupils were awarded the official certificate, and Nadhim Zahawi delivered the children a positive message: “Numbers are for everybody, take part, you are on a roll, and you are rock stars!”

Bruno Reddy, the first Maths teacher at KSA Secondary, founded Times Tables Rock Stars to help all pupils learn times tables with confidence.
